PRRT (Police Rehabilitation and Retraining Trust) is a Government funded organisation based at Holywood, Co Down. We were set up in 1999 to provide an Education and Training service for people who are leaving the Police Service of Northern Ireland and preparing for the transition into civilian life.
One of our areas of re-training is within the Trades & Skills sector. We have worked alongside the Bangor campus of the South Eastern Regional College who have assisted us by helping to identify the training needs of our clients and in the design of our customised training courses in Plumbing and Electrical.
To date we have 30 people who have been retrained within the above trades & skills areas, many of these people are now working both full-time and part-time within the construction industry.
Our partnership with the Bangor campus of the South Eastern Regional College has been very successful in the past and we have every confidence that the quality service provided in the past will continue into the future.
