The Careers Service provides information, advice and guidance on careers and learning and is available to prospective and current students. Our professionally qualified Careers Advisers provide a service that is accessible, impartial, confidential, and focused on the needs of the individual.
What does Careers Guidance involve?
Careers Guidance is a process that enables you to make well informed and realistic decisions about your future career. A Careers Guidance interview usually lasts 30 minutes and at the start of your interview you will agree with the Careers Adviser what can be reasonably expected from your discussion. The interview can help you identify your career options and weigh up which options are best for you.
Our Services are available to:
- Prospective Students
- Current Students
- Employers
Additional Support:
If you require additional support to access the Careers Service, for example if you have a disability, please advise us when making your appointment and we will endeavor to provide appropriate support.
Your views:
We are keen to know what you think of our service and welcome any comments you wish to make. We use a variety of methods to gather feedback from our clients and we would appreciate your assistance if asked to complete a questionnaire. The feedback we receive is included in the Annual Review and can lead to developments in the service.
If you wish to find out about any of our courses and/or discuss your career options please contact your local college to arrange a careers guidance interview.
EMPLOYERS
We recognise the importance of developing links with local and national employers.
We offer a Jobs and Work Placement Advertisement Service and are happy to receive details of job vacancies, student vacation work, voluntary work opportunities and work placements.
If you wish to let us know about the career opportunities within your organisation, or if you would like to get involved in providing workshops or presentation for our students, please contact careers staff at your local campus.
