SERC has become the first UK Further Education college to join the internationally recgonised CDIO Initiative. It will be in good company as it joins an elite group of leading engineering schools across the world to develop a new vision for education.
We know it can be difficult trying to entertain your kids for the whole summer. That’s why we have created SERC Kids: The Alternative Summer Camp.
With 1.2 million short breaks taken by Northern Ireland residents last year in NI, SERC is helping the sector to maximise on this home grown appetite by offering a range of training packages to enhance the skills of staff within the industry.
A group of money-savvy students from SERC are celebrating after they triumphed at the Halifax’s Money for Life Challenge UK Grand Final in London recently.
This week SERC hosted the ‘Third International Symposium on Expertise in Sustainable Society’, in partnership with Toyama National College of Technology.

Requesting Information from South Eastern Regional College
 
So far as is possible, South Eastern Regional College (SERC) wishes to provide members of the public with any information they need that is held by the Institute. SERC is committed to promoting public understanding of its nature and activities via the systematic publication of all relevant information, and will make every effort to provide, where practical and permissible, additional information to members of the public in cases where routinely published information does not provide them with the information they require.
 
 
Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 and the Freedom of Information Act 2000, individuals have rights with regard to obtaining information held by South Eastern Regional College (SERC).
 
 
Request for information relating to you
 
Under the terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 you are allowed to ask SERC for any information held about you as an individual. If you wish to make an enquiry about data that relates to yourself, please contact SERC’s Information Officer (see contact details below), by completing the Information Release Form, available as a download from the link below.Please return the completed form to the Information Officer. Assistance can also be obtained by contacting the reception at any SERC campus.
 
 
Requests for other information held by South Eastern Regional College
 
Under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000 you are allowed to ask SERC to provide you with information that it holds. For example, you may wish to see the minutes of a particular meeting, or obtain standard information about student numbers.
 
SERC already makes public large quantities of the information that it holds, and a description of all that we publish is in our Publication Scheme. This is available on our website or from the Information Officer.
 
 
Before submitting any request you are advised to check SERC’s Publication Scheme to determine whether the information you require is already available.
 
 
If you wish to make an enquiry about data held by SERC which does not seem to be already available, then please contact the Information Officer directly, or complete and return the Information Release Form.
 
When we receive your request it will be handled in accordance with the Freedom of Information Act, 2000. If we cannot determine exactly what information you require, we shall contact you as soon as possible to clarify your request. If we already publish the information you require, we shall send you details of how to find the information.
 
Where permissible the information you need will be located and provided to you in your preferred format. Please note, however, that some information may be exempt from your access: should that be the case, we will provide what information we can and also provide reasons why other information has not been released to you. Please also note that we may need to charge a fee to cover the costs of our search and any copying: until a fee is received, the information you require will not be released to you.

Use of Student and Customer Information

Your data will be shared with the Department for Employment and Learning for statistical, funding and other legitimate business purposes including the provision of careers guidance. Your information may be accessed by other Civil Service Departments. The information is covered by the Data Protection Act (1998) which entitles you to see the data held about you.
