IOSH (Institute of Occupational Safety and Health)


Starting on Tuesday 19th October in SERC Newtownards Campus


This course is ideally suited for managers and supervisors within any sector and organisation.  The course content covered will enable successful participants to manage health and safety activities and risk assessment of personnel, in compliance with organisational safety policies, the Health and Safety at Work (NI) Order and other relevant legislation. 


Course content:-


• Accidents / Incidents / Reactive monitoring
• Risk assessment and control
• Health & Safety Law
• Common hazards
• Active monitoring
• Health & Safety Management Systems


The course runs for 5 days with a written examination taking place on the final day.  Costs for attending this course will be £352 which includes registration, accreditation along with lunch and refreshments.

NEBOSH General Certificate (Level 3)

 

Next start dates are Monday 6th September in Lisburn campus or Tuesday 23rd November in Bangor campus.


Ideally suited for newly appointed Safety Officers, Safety Representatives, Risk Assessors and those from other management disciplines (Engineering, Personnel, Production and Purchasing), who have responsibilities for the health, safety and welfare of persons at work.


The NEBOSH National General Certificate is built around three elements:-

 

NGC1 – Management of Health and Safety
NGC2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards
NGC3 – Health and Safety Practical Application

 

There are two written examinations and one practical examination upon completion of the course.  Dates are set and monitored by NEBOSH.


The course is run on a day release over a 13 week period with revision time included to allow for practice exam papers and examination techniques.


Full cost is £900 including exam registration, accreditation and refreshments.

Bespoke Training

 

If you need to up-skill or retrain staff we can provide you with a bespoke training course tailored to your needs. This can be delivered either at your premises, at your nearest SERC campus or online. 

 

Our industry experienced staff will deliver your training, assess individuals and provide you with feedback on progress.  Courses can be accredited in full or we can provide accreditation for modules or units within a qualification which the individual may choose to build up to in the future. Equally you may choose a non-accredited course. 

 

Your account manager will work with you to design, build and deliver a tailored training plan which ensures you get the training your business needs at a time and place that suits you.

We can deliver customised training courses in a wide range of subjects including:

For example:

Nitronica commissioned SERC to provide vocational manufacturing engineering training programme to help up-skill and multi-skill shop floor staff.  The purpose of this training was to help the company improve quality and to create a change in culture in relation to staff acceptance of change, learning and multi tasking.  As a result of the training quality has improved by an average of 19% and Nitronica have estimated that over the entire shop floor efficiencies have increased from 75% - 91%.

SERC Learning Engine

 

The SERC Learning Engine is an online system allows clients to develop, deliver, track and manage training and assessment in a highly auditable manner.It includea a full suite of online reports, designed to provide information at individual, team, occupation and organisation level.This service will suit all businesses especially larger organisations with geographically dispersed staff, and can also incorporate delivery to external organisations such as suppliers who need to be trained on key procedures and processes.

 

SERC provides the system along with services such as authoring/design of courses and delivery of training courses.
