BACKGROUND
The Ballyboley Centre was originally the local National School built in 1830. It closed as a school in 1970 and was refurbished in 2000 and opened by The South Eastern Regional College as an out centre providing courses for students from all over the peninsula.
The Centre is particularly suitable for those with limited mobility as the 2 main rooms are within 10 metres of the front door at ground level. There is a bus stop outside as well as a large car park.
There is a friendly and relaxed atmosphere at Ballyboley with students from a wide age group – 18 to 86 and still learning!
FACILITIES/RESOURCES WITHIN THE CENTRE
A range of courses are offered at Ballyboley from upholstery and calligraphy, yoga and patchwork and quilting. Our IT Suite facilitates a range of ICT courses for people of all abilities. The Tea Club which provides refreshments for students, donates all their proceeds to charity.
