Together we’re stronger
Led by South Eastern Regional College, the Further Education sector in Northern Ireland has launched an initiative in response to the recession, in an effort to support businesses which are facing redundancies.
The Department for Employment and Learning, has invested in this initiative, bringing together the combined resources of the six Further Education Colleges to help businesses survive in the current economic climate.
The sector wide project will provide services that are free or heavily subsidised including business audits, training and advice. Trainers and advisors will also work with individuals who have been re-deployed to new jobs within a business and require up-skilling and re-skilling. Equally staff facing redundancy will be coached in job search skills and training needs. The programme will support the work of the six Workforce Development Forums and utilise the range of services provided by careers advice service, jobs and benefits offices and enterprise agencies.
