Up up and away for Lisburn UPS Students

Students studying Uniformed Public Services in South Eastern Regional College (SERC) recently attended a series of services events to give them an insight into different career paths and activities involved within the Uniformed Public Services (UPS) area.  The group of students from Lisburn are the first cohort to study UPS in SERC's Lisburn Campus.

They attended an Army Careers Exhibition at Kinnegar Barracks where they were able to see a wide variety of stands demonstrating the range of available careers within the British Army.  Students also saw a display of heavy vehicles including the world famous Challenger tank and got to examine up close a Gazelle helicopter.
Following this event students were invited aboard HMS Northumberland when it docked in Belfast. Students were guided around the ship, a Type 23 Frigate of the Royal Navy's surface fleet, and were able to chat to Royal Navy personnel about life aboard a ship.
