South Eastern Regional College has launched its 2013-2014 Part-time Prospectus. The new prospectus provides details on hundreds of courses and with 10 per cent off until end July on all vocational courses this is the perfect opportunity to sign up.
​SERC recently carried out a Geographical Information Systems (GIS) analysis for local, family owned business Kids Play NI to help them improve marketing results.
Congratulations to SERC’s Lizzie Buick, who has been announced as the winner of the Pearson Teaching Award for FE Teacher of the Year in Northern Ireland. Newtownards based Lizzie will now go forward for the UK FE Teacher of the Year later in the year.
Through funding from the Big Lottery Awards for All, the Community Development team at SERC successfully delivered the latest instalment in their 'Come Dine With Us' series on Monday 13 May at the Lisburn Campus.
SERC provides prototyping services to test early stage design for a new product for local business Commander Securities Ltd.

A part-time course at SERC can you help you to get you on track. Over the last 3 years SERC has progressed 23,135 people to a level 2-7 qualification, representing 11% of the total working population in the South Eastern Region. 

It doesn't matter what qualifications you have we have something for you. Even if you are starting with few or no qualifications we can get you started with an Essentials Skills course.

Changing Career

Whether you are out of work, seeking a new career or would like to learn new skills to complement your existing skills SERC has options for you. 
 
From entry level courses through to degree level SERC offer an extensive range of courses designed to improve your skills and make you more employable. 
 
If you are unemployed many of our part-time courses have greatly reduced course fees making it easier for you to study a course of your choice. 
 
If you are unsure of your next step or what course you should study contact a member of our award winning Careers Guidance team who will be able to provide you with free, impartial advice.

 
 

Access To Education 

Access courses are designed for mature students who have been out of education for a number of years. They provide you with the necessary qualification to access many university courses. 
 
You will learn study skills and then have the chance to choose from a number of modules, depending on what you want to progress in at degree level including Biology, Chemistry, English Literature, Maths, Sociology, Psychology, History and Policy. 
 
Many of our past students have successfully completed degrees in Nursing, Social Work, Law, Humanities, Science and many more. This course is equivalent to 3 A Levels and is accepted by Universities for entry to many of their courses.
 
Each module is assessed using a combination of end of unit exams and course work.

Essential Skills

 

Do you or someone you know find it hard to read, write or work with numbers? If so, don’t worry. Did you know that one in four adults need to improve their English and Maths skills to get on at home, work or in life?
 
SERC offer FREE English, Maths and ICT courses for people who do not have a GCSE qualification in one of these areas.  The courses are offered in a range of different levels from entry level through to level 2 - the equivalent to GCSE.
 
Delivered in a friendly environment, by experienced tutors with a track record for success you can enjoy the benefits of improving your numeracy, literacy and IT skills whilst meeting new friends.
