Krissy Doyle always had the aspiration to work in the hairdressing industry. She joined the Training for Success Programme at South Eastern Regional College, Downpatrick campus, in 2004 and trained both in the College and on work placement for the next few years. After a lot of hard work and determination, the part-time model completed her NVQ Level 2 in December 2006 and secured full-time employment in the salon she was training in at that time.
Krissy always held high hopes to strive beyond the normal 9-5 job. After careful consideration, the 20 year old decided to open up her own business in October this year. Her modern Hairdressing salon, aptly named ‘Krissy’s Kutz and Kurlz’, is located in the Down Business Park, Downpatrick.
Krissy’s former Training Support Officer at SERC, Elaine Walsh added; “I have known Krissy for a number of years now and I have found her to be a hardworking, professional young lady who deserves every success with her new business. She certainly has the practical skills and business acumen to ‘cut it’ in the trade.”
