Rachel has been a student with the College for two years, she has been studying the BTEC National Diploma in Media Production in our Downpatrick campus.
She commented, “After completing my secondary education with Ballynahinch High School I decided to attend South Eastern Regional College to study the BTEC National Diploma in Media Production. I chose this course because I was always interested in working in media and when I found out the college offer it I knew this was the place for me.
The highlight of my National Diploma was when I received the Bill Hamilton Award for Journalism at the College’s Further Education Awards Ceremony in January 2009.
Another highlight was setting up production group with some of my class, which we named Goldyn Fox Productions. Since creating the production group we have had lots of different jobs that are giving us opportunities and experience.
In the future I am planning to continue my study in the media industry by enrolling on the HNC Media course.
I am still deeply involved in our production team and we are currently getting offers to film a Policing Plan for the Down Youth IAG. I would like to continue the growth and development of Goldyn Fox, gradually expanding by purchasing more equipment and even filming scripts."
