Ross is a former electronic engineering student from Bangor Campus has started up his own security automation and audio-visual specialist firm called ISYS in 2003.

Ross, who is from Newtownards, attended Regent House before coming to the Bangor Campus of the College to study the NVQ Level 2 in Electrical Engineering specialising in electronics and software.  Ross loved problem solving and felt he had a practical skill so these were the deciding factors when choosing his course.

When Ross completed the course and left the College, he secured a position with Crane Communications, Belfast, managing contracts both North and South of the border, working on his own and part of a team. He enjoyed the constant change in work locations and dealing directly with customers whether it was dealing with design issues or fault finding.

He decided to start his own business, ISYS, in 2003 as he believed he could offer a service that could rival most of the companies on the market at that time. During the past five years the business has obtained clients such as Centra, Supervalu, Spar and many more. In addition to this, they have obtained every accreditation applicable to their business remit. Ross plans to take the business to a wider audience over the next five years by increasing coverage to the mainland UK.
