Stephen and Emma are second year students on the Foundation Degree in Construction Engineering course. They are currently on 6-month work placements with some of Northern Ireland’s major construction employers.

Stephen has spent the last four and a half months on the Victoria Square project where he  has gained industrial experience in relation to key aspects of Engineering. He has also been responsible for health & safety inductions on-site to ensure that all contractors were in compliance. He is now in work placement with the Fitzwilliam Group on the construction of the 4 star, eleven-storey Grafton House Hotel in Belfast.

Emma is in work placement with Farrans Construction Ltd where her placement involves estimating commercial construction projects and safety checks on-site at the new Castlereagh Community Treatment Centre (CTCC). They are both progressing to the second year of Honours Degree programmes in Construction Management.
