Entrepreneur Andrew Job has set the standard in class by setting up his own business. Andrew, who is in his final year of the full-time BTEC National Diploma in Media at the Colleges Downpatrick Campus, has started his own part-time business ‘Down Discos’.
Andrew says: “My business is essentially a mobile disco which covers County Down and the Belfast area; I provide a wide range of music from pop to dance and from 60s to today – basically something for everyone. Apart from the financial benefits of running my own business, I have found that I have learnt a lot with regard to the actual operations of the business including the sales, marketing and accounting – I have even set up my own website www.downdiscos.com and of course it has helped me to give practical examples in the assignments that submit in class.
