Course Overview

Within this two year course you will develop the practical skills and knowledge essential to employment within the engineering industry. You will achieve all the Level 2 outcomes required to match the occupational framework.
 
Subjects studied will include:
 
  • Health and Safety in Electrical Installation
  • Electrical Installation Theory and Technology
  • Electrical Installation Methods, Procedures and Requirements
  • Electrical Installation Craft Skills
  • Electrical Science and Principles 

 

You will also have the opportunity to participate in the National and International heats of the Skillbuild Competitions and the SPARKS UK competitions.

Ideal If:

Want to gain the knowledge and abilities that will enable you to progress onto an Electrotechnical (electrical Installation) or Electrical Engineering Apprenticeship Programme.

You'll Learn:

The principles of electrical science, electrical installation technology, installation of wiring systems, electrical fault finding techniques and Health and Safety in the workplace.

You'll Love:

The college workshops that will give you hands on experience for employment.

You'll Progress:

Onto employment as a Level 3 apprentice in the electrical installation or electrical engineering sector.

You'll Need:

5 GCSEs including at least Grade D in English and Maths
