Course Overview
The course will enable you to qualify for a level 3 OCR Technical Diploma in IT together with Vendor certified competency qualifications.

Course Modules

You will study the following subject in year 1:

  • Fundamentals of IT
  • Global Information
  • Social Media and Digital Marketing
  • Software Engineering for Business
  • Web Design and Prototyping

On successful completion of year 1, you will progress and study the following in year 2:

  • Cyber Security
  • Application Design
  • Project Management
  • Product Development
  • Internet of Everything
  • Big Data Analytics

You will also study Essential Skills to level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy unless exempt through GCSE grades C or above in Maths and English, respectively.   Employment is an integral part of this programme where you will gain valuable work experience.   As a student you will spend 1 day a week in the College.

You would like a career within the IT sector. This may lead to employment in roles such as a Software Developer, Games Developer or IT Product Developer.

You'll Need:
To have secured suitable employment in the IT sector. 5 GCSE's at Grade C or above and preferably Grade C or above in English and Maths. (Employers may set their own additional, enhanced requirements).
