Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work
The qualification gives learners the opportunity to:
· Demonstrate competence in emergency first aid at work (treatment of adults only)
Learners will be able to demonstrate competence in administering emergency first aid including: safe management of an incident until the emergency services arrive; performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation; responding to the needs of casualties who may be unconscious, suffering breathing difficulties or exhibiting severe bleeding; managing a range of minor injuries; and keeping records in relation to incidents attended.
Guided learning is 8 hours (One day course). The qualification and units are graded pass/fail.
First Aid courses will run throughout the school year at SERC pending numbers of interest who apply. This course aims to provide the counselling student with a comprehensive and flexible framework for education and training in line with professional accreditation requirements, which would facilitate safe practice within both the counselling and counselling skills arenas. At all levels students will be able to gain knowledge of key aspects of the counselling process, with the aim of becoming Integrative Counsellors.
