This Level 2 Diploma in Horticulture is a 2 year programme which will prepare you for working in the Horticulture industry.   Students will participate in work experience in the college gardens, as well as with local employers.

The delivery hours are at least 12 hours a week for this course.

FIRST YEAR MODULES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Understand the Principles of Plant Science

    Understand the Principles of Soil Science

    Establish and Maintain Plants Outdoors

    Participate in Propagation Techniques

You will be required to complete Essential Skills Literacy, Numeracy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE Grade C or above in these subjects.

The practical hands on nature of this course delivered on our bespoke horticultural campus at Holywood. You will be involved in a variety of individual and team projects with work experience a key aspect of the course.
You'll Progress:
An ideal qualification if you are intending to progress directly to employment within horticulture, or to a L3 horticultural programme.
You'll Need:
 A minimum of 4 GCSE's including at least Grade F in English and Maths. A keen interest in horticulture is essential.
