Course Overview

The L2 Diploma in the principles and practices of a Hospitality and Tourism Team Member may be delivered and assessed in the workplace or in a learning environment.

The qualification is suitable for learners who wish to achieve a stand-alone qualification and

  • want to learn new skills and knowledge to enter the sector or
  • are working in a food/Beverage/Accommodation/Tourism role/environment and wish to develop or refresh their skills and knowledge

The qualification is designed to provide a broad range of hospitality and catering skills and knowledge that will benefit learners as they start or develop their career as a professional Hospitality Team Member. This qualification provides vocational learning opportunities for learners to develop their hospitality and tourism skills while working in a range of establishments, for example, bars, restaurants, cafes, conference centres, banqueting venues, hotels, contract caterers, tourist information centres and visitor attractions.

You'll Learn:

You'll Love:
Learners for the L2 Diploma in the principles and practices of a Hospitality and Tourism Team Member will love the blend of practical and theory modules that includes an industry placement in both year 1 and year 2 providing a flavour of the hospitality industry.

You'll Progress:
The Level 2 Diploma the principles and practices of a Hospitality and Tourism Team Member will prepare learners for front of house roles in the hospitality industry. Many learners are expected to progress into employment in junior food and beverage or accommodation roles.  Learners will also have the opportunity to continue their studies with the L3 Diploma in Food and Beverage Supervision or L3 Hospitality, there programmes a designed to develop the learners supervisory skills.

You'll Need:
 4 GCSEs grades D to G including at least Grade E in Maths and Grade E in English or Level 1 in Literacy & Numeracy.
