Course Overview
This Level 2 course is designed to allow the learner to gain knowledge within the Domestic Dwelling and how to meet the challenges of Carbon Reduction, this is a one-day course with a short theory exam

Course Modules
  • Understand building insulation
  • Understand the use of internal wall, insulation (IWI) and external wall & insulation (EWI).
  • Understand Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) systems
  • Understand the enhancement of insultation for door, window and framing
  • Understand the use of different green technologies within the dwellings

For learners looking for an academic qualification/CPD in the environmental sector

You'll Learn:
You will gain skills and knowledge in Carbon Zero new and emerging retrofitting techniques and practices

You'll Love:
Learning about the new suite of Green Carbon Reducing and Carbon Reducing Retrofitting processes that will reduce our need for consuming fossil fuel within domestic dwellings

You'll Progress:
Onto the OCN NI Level 5 Award in Retrofitting of Domestic Properties will allow learners to progress to the OCN NI Level 5 Certificate and Extended Certificate in Retrofitting of Domestic Properties. From there learners may progress to higher level qualifications in the area of environmental conservation and green technologies or into employment.

You'll Need:
Learners must be at least 18 years of age and have a construction qualification such as NVQ or a background/experience in construction
