Course Overview
The course is comprised of four modules focusing around: understanding the dementia process and experience, medication use in dementia, communication and interaction and inclusion and diversity in dementia.

There are four modules covering -
- What is dementia and how does it effect individuals and those around them.
- Person centred medication management in dementia.
- Communication with individuals with dementia.
- Diversity and inclusion in dementia.

Learning is completed at the students own pace and at such a way to make it relevant to their place of work so they can identify with scenarios and situations. Learners will also find the training will improve their understanding of dementia and how to work with / look after someone with dementia. Previous earners have said it has improved their understanding of how someone with dementia experiences the world and therefore makes it easier to understand and interpret behaviour and respond appropriately.

The modules are delivered individually over the 28 weeks and will require commitment outside of the class as there is an assignment to submit for each module. Ideally students should have computer access and basic IT skills.
