Course Overview

You will gain the skills and techniques required to supervise a team, manage hospitality events and deliver a high level of service to guests/customers. The content includes:    Principles of supervising food and beverage services

The principles of food safety supervision in catering

Principles of promoting food and beverage services and products

Principles of supervising customer service performance in hospitality, leisure, travel and tourism

Supervise food and beverage service

Legislation in food and beverage service 

Barista skills

Prepare and serve wines Prepare and serve alcoholic and cold non-alcoholic beverages

Supervise hospitality events

Prepare and serve cocktails 

Ideal If:
You want to gain employment in the hospitality sector as a Food and Beverage Supervisor.  

You'll Learn:
Leadership skills, planning and delivering hospitality events, supervising beverage services, serving cocktails, barista service, table service techniques and current trends in eating and drinking

You'll Progress:
Successful completion of this course will give you supervisory skills that can lead to employment within the Hospitality Industry as a Restaurant or Bar Supervisor.

You'll Need:
4 GCSEs at C or above preferably including Maths and English however the college will offer Essential Skills literacy and numeracy, or VRQ Level 2 in Professional Food and Beverage Services.
