This course has been designed as a full time two year programme. In the first year of the programme you will complete the BTEC 90 credit Diploma. On successful completion of this first year you will ‘top-up’ by studying for additional units which will give you the full Extended Technical Diploma. Equivalent to 3 A levels.

You will also work towards a Personal Development qualification and will be involved in a range of activities, designed to improve employability.     

 

Year 2 TBC

Ideal If:
you wish to work in the production of theatre or television sets, as a theatre technician. Costume designer, stage management, lighting & sound engineer etc
You'll Learn:
stage lighting, stage sound, props making, stage management and scenic construction for the stage. You’ll also design costumes for performances, Theatre and specialist makeup and learn about the performing arts business.
You'll Love:
getting involved in the set-up and taking part in both internal and external music & performing arts performances as production arts staff. The professional lighting, sound equipment and performance facilities at our Space Building, Bangor
You'll Progress:
Further study on our Higher National Diploma in Performing Arts can lead to a career in theatre management, producing or teaching
You'll Need:

4 GCSEs at Grade C or above, or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in a related area, and successful outcome at audition/interview.

 

You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy or ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C in English or Maths or Computing.
