Course Overview

 

With the emphasis on live performance you will develop both practical and theoretical skills through study of 18 units that make up the Extended Diploma in Performing Arts.

You will learn through Project Based Learning (PBL) enhancing your performance skills while performing to public audiences in our state of the art facilities (Space) as part of SERC’s Glass Umbrella Theatre Company (Bangor) and with Sercus Theatre Company (Lisburn) in our Historical Landmark Building, Castle House.

The course is challenging, energetic and industry relevant. A talented teaching team will nurture your talents to encourage you to get the most from the course and realise your true potential.

Ideal If:
You have a passion for Performing Arts and would like to improve your performance skills to make you more employable in Film, TV, Theatre, Radio, Directing, Teaching, Coaching or Technical Theatre.
You'll Learn:
To develop skills as an actor, through devising, developing ideas and concepts for live performance, drama improvisation, movement, voice and improvisation. You will also learn about the performing arts industry and how to make yourself more employable.

To University, Drama School, Conservatoire or to SERC’s HND in Performing Arts.
You'll Need:

 

4 GCSEs at Grade C or above in any subject, or a BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts, and successful outcome at workshop audition and interview.

If you do not have a GCSE grade C in English, Mathematics and ICT, you will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy and ICT.
