Course Overview
With the emphasis on live performance you will develop both practical and theoretical skills through study of 10 units that make up the National Extended Diploma in Performing Arts Practice. 100% internally assessed, this course is highly practical and progression focused.
You will learn through Project Based Learning (PBL) enhancing your performance skills while performing to public audiences in our state-of-the-art facilities (Space) as part of SERC’s Glass Umbrella Theatre Company (Bangor) and with Sercus Theatre Company (Lisburn) in our Historical Landmark Building, Castle House.
The course is challenging, energetic and industry relevant. A talented teaching team will nurture your talents to encourage you to get the most from the course and realise your true potential.

- Performing for an Audience
- Planning a Career in the Industry
- Using Development Plans to Refine Skills

- Using Creative Collaboration to Develop a Project
- Producing a Collaborative Project
You will also work towards a Personal Development qualification and will be involved in a range of PBL activities, designed to improve your employability.

BTEC Level 2 Diploma in Performing Arts or 4 GCSE’s at Grade C or above, plus successful outcome at audition/interview
You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Numeracy, Literacy and ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C.
