Level 3 Technical Diploma in Art and Design (Photography)
This two-year Photography course is the equivalent to two A levels.
Students who successfully complete this course can apply directly to University entry or apply for our one year Foundation Diploma in Photography or Art & Design or onto higher level study.
The programme typically runs for a minimum of 15 hours a week.
Year One establishes a broad photography base developed from a range of art & design units.
Year Two focuses on further developing skills within a chosen pathway through internal assignments and live projects.

You will also exhibit your work as part of the course alongside other courses within the creative department.
You will work towards a Personal Development qualification and you will be involved in a range of activities designed to improve your employability.
Many of our students progress to further study at a higher level. Some may apply for entry to the University of their choice, but many choose to stay with us for the Foundation Diploma in Photography or the Higher National Certificate in Photography.
Further study could lead to many career options within the photographic, art or graphic design industries.
4 GCSEs grades A-C, preferably including Art, Media or Photography or a Level 2 equivalent qualification.
You will be required to complete Essential Skills in Literacy, Numeracy or ICT if you do not have a GCSE grade C in English or Maths or Computing.
At interview, you must bring a portfolio of work displaying an interest and ability in photography and/or Art & design. Details of this will be confirmed in the email invitation at a later date.
If you have just completed your GCSEs, Further Education is most likely the option for you. FE covers qualifications from entry to higher level qualifications such as Awards, Certificates, Diplomas, NVQ, BTEC and Apprenticeships.Explore Further Education
Pearson BTEC HNC in Art and Design (RQF) (Photography)
This exciting, new and dynamic full-time one year practical course offers students the opportunity to study contemporary photographic practice. Students gain experience and practical knowledge in contemporary industry practice using state of the art equipment whilst applying practical business practice to prepare them for work or to top up to the HND Photography.
Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Art and Design (Photography)
This one year, full-time photography course (15 hours per week) is aimed at preparing post A-level and mature students alike who perhaps do not yet have the necessary entry requirements or portfolio for entry into higher-level qualifications.
Leisure Digital Photography
This series of workshops helps photographers develop their skills in using digital media with their photography.
