The Extended Diploma, equivalent to three ‘A' Levels, is a two-year, full-time course designed to provide you with the knowledge, skills and understanding necessary to progress to degree level study or employment in the media sector.

It provides an opportunity for those who have an interest in media to explore, develop and test their creativity within a qualification structure that is stimulating and demanding and provides a supportive transition from general to more specialised study.   On successful completion of the first year, you will 'top-up' by studying for additional units which will give you the full Extended Diploma.

You will work on a variety of exciting projects developing new programmes for TV or Radio, creating content for use in social media applications, designing print and promotional material, using digital SLRs to photograph on location or in the studio.

You will also acquire the essential knowledge and tools for the world of work in Media by developing transferable skills such as planning, research and analysis, working with others and effective communication.

You wish to work with media products, production processes and technologies. The practical and creative skills that you will learn can be immediately transferred into the workplace.

The skills to produce and edit film and sound.  You will also learn how to produce radio programmes, video, photography, digital media content and a range of graphic design programmes and processes.

Students who successfully complete the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative Media Practice can apply for a Foundation Degree, a HNC / HND or a BA (Hons) in a Media related subject.
