The Awards Keep Coming For Ni Screen Funded Sci-Fi Short, Echoes

In September 2017 the cast and crew of Echoes (produced by causeAscene Films and directed by John Carlin) arrived at SERC Bangor to film their Northern Ireland Screen funded Short in the NI Film & Television School studios.  A two-day set-up saw students from PACA and Art & Design help the Set Designer, Stephen Bamford, turn the studios into a futuristic cargo shuttle, complete with freezer hold.  For the three-day shoot, four of the HND Creative Media students from NIFTS joined the crew as trainees on set, working across Production, Camera and Costume.  This resulted in the much sought after and often elusive, first onscreen credits for all four on a professional production.  Echoes premiered at the Belfast Film Festival in April 2018 and has been picking up awards across the festival circuit ever since.

Echoes picked up the award for 'Best Production Design' at Dublin's Underground Cinema Awards, having received the same accolade at the summer's Northern Ireland Short Film Awards.  To view the film's trailer, please visit - www.vimeo.com/260550449
