SERC is pleased to be offering a new range of fully funded skills development opportunities for 2026/27 through the Enhanced Investment Zone (EIZ) Advance ME Further programme.
The programme is designed to boost the competence and confidence of the workforce and in turn enhance their opportunities for further training and employment.
The Department for the Economy is leading on the delivery of the Enhanced Investment Zone Advance ME Further programme in Northern Ireland. The programme is funded by the UK Government and will support the Economic Vision for a regionally balanced economy with good jobs and increased productivity which delivers on decarbonisation.
SERC is inviting expressions of interest for upcoming training designed to support workforce development and business improvement within the Advanced Manufacturing sector.
Programmes available
Autodesk Industrial 3D CAD Modelling
- This course will equip you with practical, job-ready 3D CAD skills using industry-standard Autodesk Fusion 360. You will learn how to confidently design, prototype, and communicate ideas in a modern digital environment.
- Start Date: 11 November 2026
- Times: 9am - 3.30pm
- Length: 6 weeks
- Delivery: SERC Downpatrick Campus
Level 1 Siemens Mechatronic Systems Certification Programme
- This course provides a unique opportunity to gain an internationally recognised certification in mechatronic systems, equipping learners with valuable technical and problem-solving skills. The programme is designed for individuals with a background or strong interest in engineering, particularly those working in plant assembly, workshops, or service operations involving complex mechatronic systems.
- Start Date: 8 October 2026
- Times: 9am-4.30pm
- Course Length: 26 weeks

Who can apply?
To be considered for a funded place under Advance ME Further programme, applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for the programme and the entry requirements for their chosen course.
- Applicants to be 18 years or older at point of enrolment.
- Applicants must have a right to work and undertake training in the UK at the point of application and for the duration of the course and must not be disqualified from doing either by reason of their immigration status. Proof of this will be required to progress application. (UK or ROI Passport, Evidence of Right to Work via Prove your right to work to an employer)
