The achievements of eleven students and staff from SERC were celebrated at an event in Cookstown hosted to highlight success across the FE sector in Northern Ireland.

Ten SERC students were recognised at the Edwin and Alan Dunlop Construction Awards 2026.

Curtis Ford

SERC Level 2 Traineeship in Sport student Curtis Ford won first place in the Senior Boys Javelin (800g) at the Irish Schools Track & Field Championships 2026.

SERC Students

SERC students attained four first places, one second place and two third places across eight categories in the SkillBuild NI Regional Qualifier Competition 2026

SERC Fire & Security Apprentices

A team of apprentices from SERC lifted first place in the NI Intercollege Project Based Learning Exposition (PBLX) Competition.

SERC Business Support Team

SERC won the Net Zero Carbon Award Category at the Business and Finance Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Awards 2026.

SERC Dance Students

SERC Level 3 Dance students achieved a combined total of six first places, five second places and two third places across ten categories in the Northern Ireland Creative Movement and Aerobic Championships 2026

SERC Culinary Arts Students

21 SERC students took podium places in IFEX 2026, including five Gold, five Silver, 11 Bronze and two students awarded Merits.

Matthew Rutherford

SERC Carpentry and Joinery apprentice Matthew Rutherford lifted third place in the in the carpentry and joinery competition as part of the SkillBuild 2025 National Finals.
