The CCN1 core domestic gas safety certificate is regarded as an equivalent to a Level 3 QCF/RQF qualification in the gas utilisation sector and satisfies the same gas safety criteria leading to a certificate of competence recognised by the Gas Safe Register.

This course provides essential training and assessment for Gas Safe Registered engineers seeking to work on gas appliances. It offers a combination of theory and practical assessments to ensure learners meet industry safety standards.
The programme provides a valuable opportunity for career progression and hands-on experience, equipping learners with the knowledge and skills to work safely and effectively with gas appliances.
The course begins with an industry refresher update, followed by a combination of theoretical and practical assessments tailored to the entrant’s current experience level. New entrants will complete two written exams along with a suite of practical assessments covering gas appliances, including:
Cookers (CKR1)
Fires (HTR1)
Pipes
Plumbing plans
Boilers
This course is designed for Gas Safe Registered engineers.
Specific Entry Requirements:
Must be a Gas Safe Registered engineer for a minimum of six months.
Must hold CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1 qualifications.
Must have at least one year of experience on the Gas Safe Register.
Recommended Experience:
Previous experience in gas engineering and appliance servicing.
Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and compliance requirements.

Appliance-Specific Assessments (Cookers, Fires, Boilers)
Practical Installation and Troubleshooting
Written and Practical Assessments
Successful completion of this course allows learners to work on gas appliances and progress in their careers within the gas industry. Further training opportunities are available for specialization in advanced gas systems and additional appliance categories.
