Course Overview

The course begins with an industry refresher update, followed by a combination of theoretical and practical assessments tailored to the entrant’s current experience level. New entrants will complete two written exams along with a suite of practical assessments covering gas appliances, including:

  • Cookers (CKR1)

  • Fires (HTR1)

  • Pipes

  • Plumbing plans

  • Boilers

This course is designed for Gas Safe Registered engineers.

Specific Entry Requirements:

  • Must be a Gas Safe Registered engineer for a minimum of six months.

  • Must hold CCN1, CENWAT1, CPA1 qualifications.

  • Must have at least one year of experience on the Gas Safe Register.

Recommended Experience:

  • Previous experience in gas engineering and appliance servicing.

  • Strong understanding of gas safety regulations and compliance requirements.

This course will cover subject matter relating to:

  • Industry Update and Gas Safety Regulations

  • Core Domestic Gas Safety

  • Appliance-Specific Assessments (Cookers, Fires, Boilers)

  • Practical Installation and Troubleshooting

  • Written and Practical Assessments

Successful completion of this course allows learners to work on gas appliances and progress in their careers within the gas industry. Further training opportunities are available for specialization in advanced gas systems and additional appliance categories.
