Course Overview

This short course is designed for operatives who already hold either the Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1) or Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1) qualifications and wish to gain the CoNGLP1PD or CCLP1 certification. It focuses on LPG appliance work in permanent dwellings and includes three written exams and a short practical assessment, all completed in a single day.

Candidates must also hold the relevant appliance element for the type of work they intend to carry out.

This course is for experienced gas engineers expanding their practice to include LPG systems.

Specific Entry Requirements:

  • Hold either CCN1 or COCN1 qualification

  • Hold relevant appliance element for the intended work

  • Must be on the Gas Safe Register for at least 12 months

Recommended Experience:

  • Ongoing work in domestic or commercial gas installation and servicing

  • LPG Regulations and Standards

  • Characteristics and Properties of LPG

  • Installation Requirements for LPG Appliances

  • Ventilation and Flueing for LPG Systems

  • Safety Controls and Testing Procedures

  • Practical Assessment of LPG Installation Work

Learners may progress to further qualifications such as the OCN NI Level 5 Certificate in Green Technologies or Retrofitting of Domestic Properties, further enhancing their capabilities in modern energy solutions.
