LPG Changeover course is for experienced operatives who already hold either Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1) or Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1) and wish to work on LPG fired appliances in permanent dwellings.

With growing demand for alternative fuel systems in rural and off-grid areas, this course provides a valuable opportunity for qualified gas engineers to diversify their skillset. It offers the practical training and certification required to legally carry out work on Liquid Petroleum Gas (LPG) installations, opening new areas of employment and progression.
Learners will benefit from a mix of written and hands-on assessment tailored to real-world LPG applications.
This short course is designed for operatives who already hold either the Core Domestic Natural Gas Safety (CCN1) or Core Commercial Gas Safety (COCN1) qualifications and wish to gain the CoNGLP1PD or CCLP1 certification. It focuses on LPG appliance work in permanent dwellings and includes three written exams and a short practical assessment, all completed in a single day.
Candidates must also hold the relevant appliance element for the type of work they intend to carry out.
This course is for experienced gas engineers expanding their practice to include LPG systems.
Specific Entry Requirements:
Hold either CCN1 or COCN1 qualification
Hold relevant appliance element for the intended work
Must be on the Gas Safe Register for at least 12 months

Ongoing work in domestic or commercial gas installation and servicing

Learners may progress to further qualifications such as the OCN NI Level 5 Certificate in Green Technologies or Retrofitting of Domestic Properties, further enhancing their capabilities in modern energy solutions.
