Level 3 in Design of Heat Pump Systems

This course is for heating and plumbing professionals seeking to gain expertise in heat pump system design.

• Applicants must hold a nationally recognised qualification and/or registration in a trade associated with heating and/or plumbing. Candidates must provide evidence of relevant qualifications and/or registration to support entry.

Or

• Must provide written evidence confirming that they have ‘on the job’ heating installation and/or maintenance experience and/or heat pump system design work for a period of not less than two years, and evidence of ongoing continual professional development. The evidence shall be in writing from the employer detailing precisely the type, range and volume of work carried out. This qualification would enable the holder to apply for OFTEC registration and for MCS certification for work under the scope of MIS 3005-D (The Heat Pump Standard- Design).

Upon completion, learners can progress to the OFT21-504A (Installation, Commissioning and Servicing of Air Source Heat Pumps) or pursue the OCN NI Level 5 Certificate in Green Technologies to deepen their knowledge in renewable energy systems.
