Water systems in healthcare environments pose unique risks due to the presence of vulnerable individuals and complex infrastructure. This course is ideal for professionals responsible for managing, maintaining, or working with building water systems in hospitals and healthcare settings. Learners will gain a strong foundation in preventing water-borne infections, understanding hygiene protocols, and applying relevant legislation, helping improve patient safety and compliance across healthcare facilities.
This part-time course provides in-depth training on the hygiene and safety requirements for water systems in healthcare environments. It is aimed at plumbing installers, heating technicians, design engineers, maintenance staff, and those involved in infection control or water treatment. The course combines theory with practical demonstrations, including fault identification and real-world scenarios.
Learners will complete one written assignment and a short practical observation as part of the assessment process.
This course is for individuals working in or preparing to work within a healthcare setting with responsibilities related to water systems and hygiene.
Specific Entry Requirements:
Currently employed or seeking work in healthcare-related water system management, maintenance, or infection control
Recommended Experience:
Background in plumbing, heating, or facilities management is advantageous
