English Language Programmes
SERC offers flexible English Language programmes for international groups, delivered by experienced English language teachers. Programmes can be delivered online or on campus and can be tailored to meet the needs of each partner institution or group.
Our English language provision can support groups preparing for international English language exams such as IELTS, or groups who simply wish to improve their English language skills as part of a study visit, summer school or international programme.
IELTS Preparation
SERC is an IELTS Test Centre, and we can provide tailored IELTS preparation programmes for groups, helping students build the skills and confidence required for the IELTS exam.
Preparation courses can include practice tests, exam techniques and targeted language development.
Programme Options
We offer two main types of English language learning, which can be included within either exam preparation or general language development programmes.
General English
Our General English classes focus on improving overall communication skills. Students develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills, while building confidence in everyday English through practical activities, discussion and interactive learning.
Academic English
Academic English prepares students for study in SERC and focuses on academic communication skills such as presentation skills, academic writing, reading academic texts and participating in seminars or discussions.
Flexible Delivery
Programmes can be designed to suit the needs of each partner and may include:
- Online English language classes delivered in real time
- On-campus English language programmes at SERC
- Short-term intensive courses
- English language as part of summer schools or study visits
- IELTS preparation with the option to take the IELTS test at SERC
