Hairdressing students from across SERC Campuses met at SERC Lisburn Campus recently for a skill competition designed to test their technical ability in creative colouring.

Nineteen Level 3 Diploma in Hairdressing students, who were selected through heats on local campuses, enjoyed the challenge and the opportunity to compare skills and artistry through working in the salon.

The judges were Carol Ritchie, hair artist, salon owner and trainer for OSMO who had travelled from England, and past SERC student Sunita Shaw who is now a makeup artist working in film, TV and theatre.

After much discussion, they announced the winners, who took home prize vouchers. First place went to Poppy Peden (17) from Belfast, who is studying at SERC Bangor Campus. Kiri Larmour (18) from Bangor and also studying at SERC Bangor Campus took second place, and runner-up was Jessica Hamilton (17) from Belfast, who is studying at SERC Lisburn Campus.
