Gardening Tips and Advice Week 6

Gardening Tips and Advice Week 6

Throughout lockdown it's important to get outdoors, and keep the mind occupied, a great way to combine the two is by doing some gardening.

This week Horticulture lecturer Joanna Loane has provided us with some helpful advice on kokedama.

Kokedama is a term used for wrapping a plant’s roots in moss and has its origins in Japanese bonsai gardening. Kokedama are easy to create and can look stunning and unusual in the garden. In this example, small spring bulbs are used to create the moss ball display, which can either be wrapped in twine and hung in the garden, or set around on garden tables or even at the side of paths, which can be particularly attractive when arranged in groups.
