SERC Animal Management Student Eve Studies Her Passion at SERC
On her course, Eve said, “It is more structured than university, and you get a more personal experience due to smaller classes. If you don’t feel suited to university but still want to study Higher Education, then I highly recommend SERC. You get experience on top of a qualification and get to make new friends along the way. I hope to go on to study HND Animal Management, then start a career in dog training or maybe grooming. My options are very open thanks to this course!"
On her time at SERC, she commented, “I was given extra support when I needed it which really benefitted me. I contacted SERC student support asking what extra help I could get, as being autistic I often struggle with focus and keeping up in class. I was assigned a mentor and thanks to a DSA grant, I received assistive technology to help me with note taking and assignment work. My mentor has been a lifeline when I need help with work or even just feel a little overwhelmed and need a breather."
Eve concluded, “It’s easy to overlook college when considering higher education as most people think of university. I can tell you from experience university is not for everyone and SERC offers amazing options to help you achieve your dream job! If I could give SERC 11/10 I would without hesitation. It’s a challenging course but if you don’t mind working hard and love animals it’s the perfect option.”
