Coming Soon...A Night to Remember Geraldine
A night to remember Geraldine has been organised in memory of our beloved friend and colleague Geraldine Boden, who sadly passed away on 10 October last year aged just 48.
Friends and colleagues will celebrate this special event on 26 October in the McNeill Room restaurant, Downpatrick at 5:30pm to celebrate and continue the work that Geraldine did to encourage young people to develop and implement their own business ideas.
The evening is in aid of the ‘Geraldine Boden Enterprise Fund’ which has been set up to bring student enterprise ideas to life, a subject which was close to Geraldine’s heart. As Enterprise Manager at the College, Geraldine helped many students develop their talents and expand their businesses.
Geraldine’s family, friends and colleagues have arranged the special event which will include a four-course meal, entertainment and a luxurious raffle, which includes an overnight stay in the 5-star Marker Hotel, Dublin and champagne afternoon tea in the Merchant Hotel Belfast. Tickets are £20 each and will be available soon.
Over 25 very generous and exciting raffle prizes are up for grabs and tickets will go on sale next week.
The raffle will take place on 26 October at the Downpatrick campus. Tickets are £1.00 each or 6 for £5.00.
A Memory Book for Geraldine has been designed where staff can record their memories of Geraldine. This will be available at each Campus over the coming weeks and will be presented to her family during the event.
Campus Manager Paul Walsh said “Geraldine was a caring, hardworking and very popular and funny woman. Truly one-of-a-kind. She is still deeply missed by everyone and to celebrate her memory, we are hosting this special event.
"From speaking to Geraldine’s family, it was clear that everyone wanted to celebrate the good times that we shared with Geraldine while creating something that will help future students achieve success with their enterprises, something that Geraldine would have very much wanted.”
If anyone would like to donate a raffle prize, please call Michelle McCarthy via email at mmccarthy@serc.ac.uk or call Michelle on 077398 00104, all offerings are welcome.
Tickets for the event will be available soon and more information on how to purchase these will be sent. As we can only cater for 90 people it is expected that they will sell very quickly.
