Travel and Tourism students set out to clean up and ‘Be Tourism Proud’

Travel and Tourism students from SERC’s Downpatrick campus are taking part in the ‘Live here Love here’ volunteering campaign where they will be heading to Tyrella Beach on the 10 May to carry out a beach clean-up.

The ‘Live here Love here’ campaign is a positive, people powered campaign focused on improving our local environment and building a sense of civic pride in our local communities.

Litter sits around towns, countryside, beaches and parks and through the ‘Live here Love here’ campaign, groups and individuals are taking action and carrying out a clean-up.

The students are running their own "Be Tourism Proud" campaign and currently have a team of 30 volunteers who will undertake the beach clean on the 10 May.

Students will also be working with Surfers against Sewage and The Men's Shed Downpatrick.

The campaign has been kindly sponsored by Lidl and Wrap and Roll.  Both companies will be providing food, snacks and refreshments to help on the day.
