Level 3 Technical Diploma in Art & Design - Graphic Design & Illustration students from SERC Bangor Campus have raised a total of £305 for Almost Home Animal Rescue NI.

The eighteen students, many of whom belong to D7 Designs – a student company based in Bangor Campus, raised the money through selling stickers at multiple events, including SERC Halloween markets (where they sold £105 worth of stickers), and Q-Con (where they sold £200 worth of stickers).

The stickers were designed on iPads which the students used in their classroom and then printed them using a printing and cutting machine used by D7 Designs, to make physical copies of their digital art. The students also created vinyl stickers, which were produced in the Campus’s print room. The students chose to raise money for Almost Home Animal Rescue NI, an animal welfare charity that rescues, rehabilitates, and rehomes companion and small animals across Northern Ireland, inspired by one of their classmates who volunteers there in their spare time..

Level 3 Technical Diploma in Art and Design (Graphic Design and Illustration) student Vince Gilliland (20), from Comber, comments, “It’s an impressive achievement to raise such an incredible amount for a good cause by selling something the class and I are passionate about. The sticker process itself was incredibly enjoyable; there was a collective effort by the whole class to make varied designs, so the stickers could appeal to everyone. I really loved going from the design process to seeing my stickers printed out and on sale at different events. I’m absolutely over the moon that the charity benefited from our work!”
