During the competition, students had to complete five tasks, which included measuring engine components, forming threads in a block, welding, completing a machine inspection, and setting valve clearance on an engine. Students had to complete the tasks within a time limit and were marked on their ability to complete each task correctly while using the appropriate PPE.
First place went to Level 2 Apprenticeship NI in Construction Plant Maintenance apprentice Timothy Millar (19, Ballymena), who won a £50 Halfords voucher, second place went to Level 2 Apprenticeship NI in Construction Plant Maintenance apprentice Corey Cunningham (19, Lisburn), who won a £30 Halfords voucher, and third place went to Level 2 Apprenticeship NI in Construction Plant Maintenance apprentice Jacob McKew (18, Armagh) who won a £20 Halfords voucher.
