Crescent Purchasing Consortium (CPC) is a not-for-profit charitable organisation that provides purchasing frameworks, dynamic purchasing systems and procurement consultancy services for schools, academies, colleges, universities and other educational organisations.

With a recent grant from the CPC, SERC can begin work on a new project – ‘Mindful Pages’ - a SERC Bangor campus book club space dedicated to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). The new book club will provide SERC SEND students with a dedicated safe space to foster connection, well-being, and a sense of belonging, with soft seating and a plethora of inclusive and diverse books to read and discuss with fellow students.

SERC Head of Collaboration and Transformation Projects Kieran McKenna comments, "The hope is for this new project to become a model for other colleges seeking to support SEND students in managing mental health, developing resilience, and building peer support networks through a shared hobby. We aim to reduce absence rates, improve student confidence, well-being and belonging, as well as foster new friendships, which in turn all have a very positive impact on a student's learning experience.”
