Health and social care lecturers and work placement officers at SERC updated their skills with specialist training on the EpicCare Link/ My Care system.
Digital Health and Care Northern Ireland (DHCNI) are the team moving every health care record for everyone in Northern Ireland to a new digital system which uses EpicCare Link encompass (for use by health professionals only) and My Care which allows individuals to access information such as your medications, appointments and some test results.
Wendy Carson, Principal Trainer - Outpatients from the EpicCare/My Care team, was invited to deliver a presentation on the system to the health and social care team at SERC’s Newtownards Campus recently. Nikki Rainey, Curriculum Manager Health and Care said, “Training on this new digital system was identified as an action point during our Level 4 HNC Health Care Practice /Social Community Work Periodic Review. Our lecturers and work placement officers have now been trained on the new system, and this information can be effectively incorporated into classroom teaching.”
Nikki added, “Wendy was previously a part-time member of the health care team at SERC, so it was a pleasure to welcome her back to our Newtownards Campus to deliver the training and share her knowledge and experience.”
