Students from South Eastern Regional College (SERC) are getting ready to volunteer at the inaugural TEDx Bangor, with a theme of Share Your Story, on Friday 9th October at SERC’s SPACE Campus, Castle Park Road, Bangor.
TEDx is a series of independently organised community-based events that follow the globally recognised TED format to share short, idea-focused talks under the “ideas worth spreading” mission.
The students, Eve McCambley, Chloe Pyper and Megan Guthrie, all from Pearson BTEC HND in Performing Arts, and Mark Brashier, from the Level 3 National Extended Diploma in Business, will see how a global brand event is planned and delivered. They will also have the opportunity to network with speakers and contributors, whist they take on volunteering roles that will help the day run smoothly.
Speakers at TEDx Bangor include artist, authors, entrepreneurs, educators, comedians, composers and many more. The day will include breaks between sessions so attendees can reflect, discuss ideas and continue conversations sparked from the stage. It promises to be an exciting event and is open to everyone interested in hearing something new.
