Course Overview
This hands-on course introduces the fundamentals of 3D CAD modelling for industrial applications. Aimed at individuals & industry professionals new to computer-aided design, the course focuses on developing practical skills in parametric modelling, technical drawing, and digital prototyping using a modern cloud-based CAD platform. The content is tailored for engineers, technicians, apprentices, and individuals seeking to build core design skills relevant to the manufacturing and engineering sectors.

No formal qualifications are required. This course is suitable for beginners, apprentices, and industry professionals with basic computer skills and an interest in CAD and engineering design.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
  • Navigate a professional CAD environment and create 2D sketches with constraints
  • Construct and edit 3D parametric parts using tools such as extrude, revolve, sweep and loft
  • Understand design intent, dimensional control and feature-based modelling
  • Create simple assemblies and exploded views
  • Produce annotated technical drawings for manufacture
  • Export digital models for 3D printing and prototyping workflows
