Delivered over three consecutive days, this course combines classroom-based theory with hands-on workshop training. Learners will complete both practical and online assessments to demonstrate their competency. The course includes the full content of the Level 2 Award and expands into more advanced diagnostic and repair skills. It is ideal for professionals who may encounter electric/hybrid vehicles in their work and need to manage repairs to high-voltage systems.
This course is for vehicle maintenance and repair technicians who want to gain qualifications in electric/hybrid vehicle systems.
Specific Entry Requirements:
Ideally, learners should hold a Level 3 qualification in vehicle maintenance and repair or equivalent experience
Applications will be reviewed individually based on qualifications and work experience
This course will cover subject matter relating to:
EV2.2 (Level 2 content):
Electric/hybrid vehicle system components and operation
Hazards surrounding electric/hybrid vehicles
Risk reduction when working on these systems
Safe preparation of vehicles for maintenance
EV3:
Safe working practices for high-voltage repairs
Using technical information to carry out tasks
Performing repairs on high energy electrical systems
Recording information and making recommendations
This qualification will help support their progression onto qualifications that further develop your knowledge and skills within a technical role, carrying out diagnosis, repair and testing of high voltage components on Electric/Hybrid vehicles:
- Level 4 Award in the Diagnosis, Testing and Repair of Electric/Hybrid Vehicles and Components
- Note Level 3 is a mandatory entry requirement of the level 4 qualification
