Do you want to build your skills in preparation for employment? Do you want to help and support other students at SERC, then why not apply to be a Peer Mentor?
The SERCSU Peer Mentoring Programme exists to support SERC Students throughout their student journey at SERC. Student life can be daunting with deadlines, work, financial pressures and new social groups. The Peer Mentoring programme links students with student mentors that will be able to talk with you in confidence and signpost you to key support services.
Become a Peer Mentor
Being a Peer Mentor is a big responsibility but also presents you with an opportunity to develop your personal, social and life skills.

Improve communication and personal skills Develop leadership and management qualities Reinforce your own study skills and knowledge of your subject(s) Increase your confidence and motivation Engage in a volunteering opportunity, valued by employers Enhance your CV Gain recognition for your skills and experience Benefit from a sense of fulfilment and personal growth If you are interested in becoming a mentor you must be over 17 and already have completed one full years study at SERC.
