What is GDPR?

On 25th May 2018, the General Data Protection Regulations come into effect across the UK and Europe. These Regulations apply to all organisations who process personal data. After a series of successful GDPR workshops which were attended by a number of businesses across the province, and based on the positive feedback we gratefully received, we have decided to roll out further workshops in your area to help prepare your business for the introduction of GDPR. These workshops will help businesses understand and prepare for the new and enhanced requirements of these new Regulations.

In light of recent news events, it is critical that you can offer your customers assurance that you are treating their personal data responsibly within the provisions of legislation. ‘Accountability’ is enshrined in GDPR and we hope our workshops will point you toward the actions you can start taking to demonstrate your compliance.

The Introduction to GDPR Workshops will cover the following:

  • GDPR Principles
  • Legal Basis for processing
  • Consent
  • Individuals Rights
  • Privacy Notices
  • Privacy Impact Assessments
  • Contracts
  • International Transfers
  • Role of the Data Protection Officer
  • Powers of the Information Commissioner
