CIPD level 3 certificate in Human Resource Practice.
Reason for undertaking course?
To upskill and improve my knowledge of Human Resources (HR) . At the time of studying I had only really started in my HR career as an Employee Relations Specialist in development and really wanted to further my knowledge and career while I was getting the opportunity to get experience.
What is your current role and what does it involved?
My permanent role is Employee Relations Manager with Concentrix, however I am currently acting UK HR Director.
Why did you decide to undertake part-time study?
I was working full-time when I started studying and I needed to find something that I could do around my working schedule. I was very lucky to find a course that I could do outside of work hours with SERC.
What did you enjoy most about your course?
I really loved working with the lecturers, especially Mike Beattie, he was very knowledgeable and inspiring. I think he really finds your strengths and qualities and encourages those. I loved how practical the course was and everything that we learned in theory was related back to the job.
How did your course help you in your career?
It really helped me understand the legislation and theory behind what I was doing in HR. It also developed my understanding of how HR fits into the business which I think it so important for a HR Leader.
