Reason for undertaking your course?
To gain the required qualifications to gain entry to the Adult Nursing Degree.
What is your current role and what does it involved?
I am currently a 1st year Adult Nursing student at Queens University, this involves academic study in university and undertaking professional placement. On placement I gain experience of the nursing role and get to see all aspects of health care first hand.
Why did you decide to undertake part-time study?
The reason I decided to undertake part time study was so that I could remain in full time employment to support my young family.
What did you enjoy most about your course?
I really enjoyed being back in education in an adult environment, meeting new friends and the challenge of learning new subjects.
How did your course help you in your career?
The course helped me to gain entry to university. The course gave me a foundation knowledge in relevant subjects, this included social science, psychology and biology. The course also taught me study skills which have proven most beneficial in university.
